Supply & installation

GAS-PRESS offers supply and installation of piping for steam and hot water systems, both with steel and pre-insulated pipes. The advantage of using pre-insulated pipe sections is not only faster installation, but reduced heat loss during operation. We also offer design, supply, installation and commissioning of heat exchangers, as well as refurbishment and upgrade of existing stations. We cooperate with manufacturer Alfa Laval to ensure the most up-to-date design and supply of plate heat exchangers for new and modernized heating stations.
 

Hot water systems

Pipes for hot water systems are usually insulated by PUR foam, with outside surface protection from HDPE material commonly used in underground trenches. In case of applications above ground, various materials are used for outside protection, with a final cover of aluminium or steel cladding. PUR foam insulation cannot withstand average temperatures of over 145°C.

Steam systems

PUR foam is not suitable for direct contact with steel pipes carrying steam at higher temperatures, and therefore multilayer insulation must be used. The first material layer allows for pipe dilatations, as there is minor movement between the pipes and the insulation due to great temperature variations between operation and shutdown periods. The first insulation layer is mineral wool, which can withstand higher temperatures and is therefore suitable for steam pipe insulation. The second layer is PUR foam, and HDPE material forms a final protective layer against outer mechanical damage. Welded pipe joints are insulated by special sleeves with the same insulation properties. The last step of installation is to connect and perform a full check of control and signal cables.
